Melanie A. Myers

Holds a Master of Science in Construction Management from Eastern Michigan University and is a Project Manager for Planning, Design and Construction at St. Joseph Mercy Health System. Prior to her current position, she was the Construction Management Program Coordinator for Oakland Community College (OCC) in Farmington Hills, Michigan where she managed and wrote construction management curricula while advocating, advising and teaching students on current educational and career opportunities in construction. Prior to OCC, she was a Lecturer at Eastern Michigan University teaching undergraduate and graduate level construction management courses. Her early industry experience includes a position as a construction material testing technician and then project manager for two different southeast Michigan contractors. Her years of field experience inspired her to educate others wanting to enter the construction workforce. Her love of the industry pulled her back into the field. She is a member of the NAWIC Lansing, Michigan Chapter #177, Past Region 4 Director 2010-2012, NEF Trustee since 2010 and NEF Secretary-Elect for 2013-2014. She helps to carry out the association’s goal of enhancing the success of women in construction by serving NEF her chapter, region and national activities. It is through her involvement in NAWIC that she is also lead the Michigan Construction Career Days event from 2008-2014 and other various construction career exploration events.
